Prayer to Saint Martha

 

 From the Liturgical Year, 1909  

Now that, together with Magdalene, thou hast entered for ever into possession of the better part, thy place in heaven, O Martha, is very beautiful. For they that have ministered well, says St. Paul, shall purchase to themselves a good degree, and much confidence in the faith which is in Christ Jesus (1 Tim. iii. 13). The same service which the deacons, here alluded to by the Apostle, performed for the Church, thou didst render to the Church's Head and Spouse; thou didst rule well thine, own house, which was a figure of that Church so dear to the Son of God. But God is not unjust, that He should forget your work and the love which you have shown in His name, you who have ministered and do minister to the saints (Heb. vi. 10). And the Saint of saints Himself, thy indebted guest, gave us to understand something of thy greatness, when, speaking merely of a faithful servant set over the family to distribute food in due season, He cried out: Blessed is that servant whom when his lord shall come, he shall find so doing. Amen I say to you, he shall place him over all his goods (St. Matth. xxiv. 46, 47). O Martha, the Church exults on this day, whereon our Lord found thee thus continuing to serve Him in the persons of those little ones in whom He bids us seek Him. The moment had come for Him to welcome thee eternally. Henceforth the Host most faithful of all to the laws of hospitality, makes thee sit at His table in His own house, and girding Himself, ministers to thee as thou didst minister to Him.

From the midst of thy peaceful rest, protect those who are now carrying on the interests of Christ on earth, in His mystical Body, which is the entire Church, and in His wearied and suffering members the poor and the afflicted. Bless and multiply the works of holy hospitality; may the vast field of mercy and charity yield ever-increasing harvests. May the zeal displayed by so many generous souls lose nothing of its praiseworthy activity; and for this end, O sister of Magdalene, teach us all as our Lord taught thee, to place the one thing necessary above all else, and to value at its true worth the better part. After the word spoken to thee, for our sake as well as thine own, whosoever would disturb Magdalene at the feet of Jesus, or forbid her to sit there, would deserve to have his works frustrated by offended heaven.

Prayer to St. Anne

 

With my heart full of the most sincere venerations, I prostrate myself before thee, O glorious Saint Anne. Thou art that creature of privilege and predilection, who by thy extraordinary virtues and holiness didst merit from God the high favor of giving life to her who is the Treasury of all graces, blessed among women, the Mother of the Word Incarnate, the most holy Virgin Mary. By virtue of so lofty a privilege, do thou deign, O most compassionate saint, to receive me into the number of thy true clients, for so I profess myself and so I desire to remain throughout my entire life.

Shield me with thine effectual patronage and obtain for me from God the power to imitate those virtues where with thou wast so plentifully adorned. Grant that I may know and weep over my sins in bitterness of heart. Obtain for me the grace of most active love for Jesus and Mary, and resolution to fulfill the duties of my state of life with faithfulness and constancy. Save me from every danger that confronts me in life, and help me at the hour of death, that so I may come in safety to paradise, there to sing with thee, O most happy mother, the praises of the Word of God made Man in the womb of thy most pure daughter, the Virgin Mary. Amen.

Saint Anne, whom I have chosen as my special patron, pray for me that I, too, may one day glorify the Blessed Trinity in heaven. Obtain for me your lively faith, that I may consider all persons, things, and events in the light of almighty God. Pray, that I may be generous in making sacrifices of temporal things to promote my eternal interests, as you so wisely did.

Set me on fire with a love for Jesus, that I may thirst for His sacraments and burn with zeal for the spread of His kingdom. By your powerful intercession, help me in the performance of my duties to God, myself and all the world.

Win for me the virtue of purity and a great confidence in the Blessed Virgin. Protect me this day, and every day of my life. Keep me from mortal sin. Obtain for me the grace of a happy death. Amen

O Mary, Queen of all Saints, who art the beauty of Carmel, how sweet it is for me to venerate thee under the title of Our Lady of Mount Carmel.

Even from the days of the Apostles, thou hast been honored under this mystic title; I am filled with joy as I consecrate myself to thee, O holy Mary, most unworthy though I am to be thy servant, yet touched by thy motherly care for me and longing to serve thee, in the presence of my Guardian Angel and the court of Heaven, I choose thee this day to be my Queen, my Advocate, and my Mother, and I firmly purpose to serve thee ever more and to do what I can that all may render faithful service to thee.

Therefore, most devoted Mother, through the Precious Blood thy Son poured out for me, and through the promises of thee as Our Lady of Mount Carmel, I beg thee, deign to take me among thy clients and receive me as thy servant forever.

O beauty of Carmel, glory of Libanus, thou purest of lilies, mystic rose in the garden of the Church, I salute thee! O Virgin of virgins, be mindful of me in my misery, and show thyself my Mother.

Shed upon me ever more and more the living light of that faith which made thee blessed; inflame with that Heavenly love wherewith thou didst love thy dear Son, Jesus Christ.

Do thou, Mother of God, who hast such power and might, obtain for me from blessed Jesus, the Heavenly gifts of humility, chastity, and meekness, which were the fairest ornaments of thine Immaculate soul.

Do thou grant me to be strong in the midst of the temptations and bitterness which so often overwhelm my spirit. Aid me in every action, and beg for me the grace, never, by word or deed or thought, to be displeasing in thy sight and that of thy most holy Son. Think of me my dearest Mother, and desert me not at the hour of death. Amen.

Sound of Freedom starring Jim Caviezel was the #1 movie in America on July 4

Fox News: 'Sound of Freedom' becomes top grossing July 4th movie, beating out Indiana Jones.

"Sound of Freedom" beat "Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny" which played in nearly 2,000 more theaters had a reported budget of $295 million. The franchise sequel took in $11 million and the second-place-slot on July 4.

In reacting to the film’s theatrical release success, Caviezel told the Ingraham Angle that it was never about beating Disney.

“This isn’t about them. It’s not about Angel Studios putting it out. It’s about the children,” Caviezel said. “And Americans waking up right now. And the only way these [child trafficking] laws are going to be changed is that if the people move right now to save them.

“This is a good versus evil story. This is a battle hero story, and I was very blessed that I got the opportunity, just as I was blessed to do The Passion of the Christ.  Eduardo Verástegui, Sound of Freedom’s producer and one of its stars, recently told LifeSiteNews that the movie is a weapon of mass instruction and inspiration, that will put more pressure on governments to act against the depraved exploitation of vulnerable children while enlisting ordinary citizens around the world to do what they can to end child-sex slavery.

Mel Gibson, the creative genius behind The Passion of the Christ, and Elon Musk have both urged people to go see Sound of Freedom.

My most sweet Queen and Mother, do thou seek and obtain for me from thy Son those graces which thou knowest to be the most expedient and necessary for my soul. I abandon myself entirely into thy hands, and only beg the Divine Majesty, that by the merits of my Saviour Jesus He will grant me the graces which thou askest Him for me. Ask, ask, then, O most Holy Virgin, that which thou seest best for me; thy prayers are never rejected; they are the prayers of a Mother addressed to a Son, Who loves thee, His Mother; so much, and rejoices in doing all that thou desirest, that He may honour thee more, and at the same time show thee the great love He bears thee. Let us make an agreement, O Lady, that while I live confiding in thee, thou on thy part wilt charge thyself with my salvation. Amen
