Prayer to St. Dominic Savio

Glorious St. Dominic Savio, who, burning with the desire of increasing the glory of God and of His Spouse the Church, invariably attended to the sanctification of your own soul and the edification of others, by the constant practice of prayer and charity, penance, and all Christian virtues; so that, becoming in the Church a model of holiness, you are now in heaven the protector of all those who have recourse to you in faith: cast a benign eye upon us who invoke your powerful patronage. Increase in us that true piety which forms the characteristic of the sons of God, Cause us, in imitation of you, to have, like faithful servants, our loins girt, and our lamps burning in our hands, and to live in edifying penitence; that when the eternal Master comes we may be found ready to depart from this exile, and merit to be admitted to those eternal tabernacles, where we shall see what we now believe, and obtain what now we hope for, the enjoyment of the immortal King of ages, to Whom be honor, glory, and benediction given, forever and ever.

Prayer to St. Dominic Savio as your Patron Saint

Saint Dominic Savio, whom I have chosen as my special patron, pray for me that I, too, may one day glorify the Blessed Trinity in heaven. Obtain for me your lively faith, that I may consider all persons, things, and events in the light of almighty God. Pray, that I may be generous in making sacrifices of temporal things to promote my eternal interests, as you so wisely did.

Set me on fire with a love for Jesus, that I may thirst for His sacraments and burn with zeal for the spread of His kingdom. By your powerful intercession, help me in the performance of my duties to God, myself and all the world.
Win for me the virtue of purity and a great confidence in the Blessed Virgin. Protect me this day, and every day of my life. Keep me from mortal sin. Obtain for me the grace of a happy death. Amen

“I am not capable of doing big things, but I want to do everything, even the smallest things, for the greater glory of God”. St. Dominic Savio

Chapter XXV: The Influence of Dominic's Virtues.

This confidence in the intercession of Dominic was greatly increased by an assertion made is the strongest terms by his father. He says: "I was is the greatest affliction at the loss of my son, and was consumed by a desire to know what was his position in the other world. God deigned to comfort me. About a month after his death, during a very restless night, I saw, as it were, the ceiling opened, and Dominic appeared in the midst of dazzling light. I was beside myself at this sight, and cried out: "O Dominic, my son, are you already in Paradise?" "Yes," he replied, "I am in Heaven." Then pray for your brothers and sisters, and your mother and father, that we may all come to join you one day is Heaven." "Yes, yes, I will pray," was the answer. "Then he disappeared, and the room became as before." This the father asserts to be the simple truth.

As an antidote Against the cholera plague Don Bosco recommended to his Oratory boys the use of the Miraculous Medal and the purity of life
